Hi. I'm Wafaa Mohammed.
I am an ELLIS PhD student at the Language Technology Lab at the university of Amsterdam. I am proud to be supervised by Dr. Vlad Niculae. My Phd is part of the UTTER Project.
My main motivation for persuing research in language is that it is one of the most vital ways for humans to communicate. I am fascinated by the way we acquire language and how it is processed in our brains; especially for multilingual people.
My current research focuses on context-aware machine Translation. I am interested in building machine translation systems that are able to handle context-dependent discourse phenomena while also performing well on general tranlsation.
In my free time, I like to read, travel, and experiene new things; I am always up for a new challenge :)
